The Hip Replacement Procedure
We ask that patients be prepared to stay in Cabo San Lucas for about two weeks so we can complete all of your preoperative testing, your surgery, and part of your recovery.
Anesthesia
Anesthesia will be administered to keep you comfortable throughout your procedure. We will place an IV line containing antibiotics as a preventative measure.

Recovering After Your Hip Replacement
Walk Within 1 Day
Patients can often start walking within one day of their surgery with the help of a walker. You can return to normal activities 6-12 weeks after your hip replacement procedure. Sutures are removed two weeks after surgery.
Manage Discomfort
Pain is controlled before surgery with a safe combination of medications and ultrasound-guided local nerve blocks, so you can expect to be fairly comfortable after your surgery. Any subsequent pain can be managed with prescribed medication or over-the-counter pain relievers.
